Library COVID-19 Resources: Library Instruction

This page has library updates and resources related to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Schedule Through Librarian Liaison

Please continue to schedule any library instruction via your department/program's Librarian Liaison. Information is given here: http://libguides.mnstate.edu/libraryliaisons

If your program or department does not have a liaison, or if you are unsure, contact Brittney Goodman – brittney.goodman@mnstate.edu.

Options for library instruction during this time of limited face-to-face interaction could include:

  • Collaborating to create an online Library Course Guide (Libguide) for your class or assignment that would include appropriate instructions, links, and research databases.
  • Scheduling a synchronous meeting with a librarian, you, and your students via Zoom.
  • Giving students your librarian liaison's contact information, such as email.
  • Librarian being available via Chat or Zoom at specified time for your student's questions.
  • The library reference desk email account, as well as chat and text messaging questions will be monitored from the hours of 9-4:30 M-F (this is subject to change).

Due to system and campus guidelines regarding limiting meetings of groups of 4 or more to online interaction only, scheduling a library computer lab will currently not be permitted. If you had a library instruction workshop previously scheduled, please work with the librarian for your area on an alternative method.
