Library COVID-19 Resources: Changes to Operations

This page has library updates and resources related to the COVID-19 outbreak.

NOTICE

To provide a safe learning environment in the Livingston Lord Library, a number of changes have been implemented.

  • Beginning on September 13th, Library hours will be extended to: Sunday 1 pm to 9 pm; Monday through Thursday 8 am to 9 pm; and Friday 8 am to 5 pm. The Library will be closed on Saturday.

  • The third and fourth floors of the library will be closed to foot traffic. Materials on these floors will be available through our online Hold Service. Place a hold on any library materials using Dragon OneSearch, the item(s) will be retrieved for you, and an email sent when they are ready to be picked up at the Circulation Desk. Please plan ahead to allow time to have your materials pulled and placed on the shelf.

  • University Archives is open by appointment only. Call 218-477-2346 or send email to archives@mnstate.edu.

  • Furniture and computers have been rearranged in the Library and the Library Porch to encourage physical distancing.

  • Study rooms and classrooms have signage to indicate capacity for each room.

  • Library faculty will provide reference service through email, chat service, Zoom sessions and face-to-face wearing masks. Reference assistance will be provided Monday – Thursday 9 am to 6 pm and Fridays 9 am to 4 pm and Sunday 1 pm to 5 pm.

  • Returned library materials will be quarantined for three days.

  • Masks or face shields are to be worn by all employees and patrons following University guidelines.

  • Hand sanitizer stations will be placed at each entrance and at high traffic areas throughout the building.

  • All employees, students and visitors are required to complete the Dragons Care screening form before visiting campus.

With all of these measure in place, we feel secure in providing a safe environment for our students, faculty, staff and community patrons.
