Sikh Holidays and Observances

Sikh holidays are typically days of historical significance for reflection and celebration. Individuals may require time away from campus for travel and observance.


Diwali — Festival of Lights; also celebrated by Hindus and Jains. Parents may give their children sweets.  Presents are exchanged.


Hola Mohalla  — Festival initiated by Guru Gobind Singh as a day of mock battles and poetry contests.


Vaisakhi — Festival honoring the founding of the Khalsa tradition.
