National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW) and Girls and Two-Spirit People (Red Dress Day) — May 5. An annual event held by the REDress Project in memory of the lives of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and Two-Spirit People in Canada. This day is gaining popularity in the United States.
National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (Orange Shirt Day) — September 30. Canadian day of memorial to recognize the atrocities and multi-generational effects of the Canadian Indian residential school system. This day is gaining popularity in the United States.
Indigenous Peoples' Day — Second Monday in October. Celebrates and honors Indigenous American peoples and commemorates their histories and cultures.
