Q: Where do I find information about grant opportunities?
A: Contact the Grant Support Center (grantsupport@mnstate.edu) or the Coordinator (colleen.marsh@mnstate.edu) to initiate a search request for grant opportunities.

Q: Where can I find statistical information about MSUM, student statistics and demographics, etc.?
A: Much of that information can be found at College Navigator, at the Institutional Annual Reports, and at the Graduate Follow-up Survey and Statistics. Kristi Monson (kristi.monson@mnstate.edu) can provide information about MSUM and the community.

Q: What is the approval process from MSUM before I submit a grant application?
A: You need to fill out MSUM’s Grant Approval form (provide the link once we have a link for the grant form). Grants that are requesting $50,000 or more will need to go through the entire approval process, with final approval by the President. Grants that are for $5,000-$49,999 will need final approval by the Vice President of Academic Affairs. Grant applications that are for less than $5,000 will need final approval by the MSUM Grants Officer. Please initiate this process at least two weeks before the grant submission deadline, and it is best to initiate this process as soon as you have the necessary information.

Q: Do I need to create a SAM registration?
A: No, MSUM is already registered with SAM.

Q: What is MSUM’s federally negotiated indirect rate?
A: For the period of 7/1/2018 to 6/30/2022, the indirect rate is 39.40%. If you need the document that indicates this rate to include with your application, please reach out to the Grants Officer for a copy.
