In addition to making education more accessible to students by lowering costs, Open Educational Resources can enhance diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in education in a number of ways.

Resources for Creating Inclusive OERs

• Accessibility Toolkit - a collection of resources for content creators to create accessible open textbooks. You can also access this toolkit as a complete book published on Pressbooks.
• Branch Alliance for Educator Diversity OER Rubric -  a resource to evaluate OER with the goal of increasing the number of high-quality, equity oriented, and inclusive OER that represents communities of color
• Enhancing Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility (IDEA) in Open Educational Resources (OER) by Nikki Andersen - This practical guide provides a framework and tips to enhance inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility in Open Educational Resources.
• LGBTQ+ Glossary - Gives definitions for respectful and inclusive terminology 
• Inclusive Language Guidelines - guidelines published by the American Psychological Association aimed to raise awareness, guide learning, and support the use of culturally sensitive terms and phrases that center the voices and perspectives of those who are often marginalized or stereotyped

Diverse and Inclusive Images

• Disabled and Here Collection - This is a disability-led effort to provide free & inclusive stock photos and illustrations celebrating disabled Black, Indigenous, people of color (BIPOC).
• Gender Spectrum Collection - stock photo library featuring images of trans and non-binary models that go beyond the clichés. 
• Human Development Institute - Public domain images of all people with disabilities in all aspects of society.
